What we did
We helped reach out to the target audience; break through the clutter of the online portals and drive traffic to the campaign site to gain acquisition.
The Idea
Banking designed around you - the big idea conveyed that banking services can be designed around the lifestyles of YPEs’ (Young Professionals & Executives). We grab their attention by letting them create a world that revolves around them, and through it, also show them how the programme can enrich their world and lifestyle.
With a big but simple concept as an initial trigger, it was then simulated with a simple profiling quiz. By answering five questions, a user’s virtual world is customized according to his/her lifestyle choices. A basket of benefits are then shown according to their answers.
Traffic was driven with a slew of rich media online banners.
Results
Banner Ad 1: More than just a credit card (Jiggle)
Results:
• The number of sign-ups was more than 8 times the daily average.
• A 4-fold increase in the number of visitors.
• More than triple the number of worlds created.
Banner Ad 2: More than just a credit card (Shadow play)
Results:
A 12.6% conversion rate of visitors clicked on Sign Up when they visited the site through the banner, making it one of the highest conversion rates for a HSBC Banner ever.
Award:
This ad was awarded Gold for the Asia Interactive Awards 2008 for the category: Online advertising: Best Out-of-Banner Ad.
